Quick Start – Location sharing and viewing
Turning on FireMapper location sharing
Selecting Share My Location will display your location on shared maps for other FireMapper users in your organisation.
Users must opt-in to use location sharing on each device. It is not turned on by default.
FireMapper allows each device to identify itself either as a person or an appliance, with flexible appliance resource types and identification. Appliance locations are shared with other users in the same brigade, and visible on the FireMapper Portal.
Follow the steps below to share your location.
Navigate to the Main Menu Screen.
The User Profile Screen will appear.
Turn on Share My Location by clicking on the toggle.
Click the Back Button at the top of the screen to save changes and return to the Main Menu Screen.
Viewing others’ locations
Follow the steps below to view others’ locations.
Navigate to the Map Screen and select a resource that you want to view.
A banner will appear at the top of your screen that provides details on the resource selected.
To unselect the resource, select a blank area of the map. A view similar to the below will appear.
