Navigate to Feature

You can use FireMapper to navigate to a location using the internal compass.

Note

This functionally is not implemented yet on the Android. This is on the product roadmap for Android. Fields such as bearing and estimated time remaining will also be added in future iOS releases.

1. Select a Point or Photo on the Map Screen.

2. Tap the Navigate using FireMapper button in the bottom toolbar. The yellow/black arrow button will point the approximate physical direction of the target. This is handy if you want to know the direction of the selected feature on the map without starting the navigation tool.

3. Move the device in a figure 8 pattern in the air a few times to help calibrate the digital compass and reduce the magnetic error.

5. On the navigation screen, you can tap any display panels you would like to change.

5. You can return the Map Screen without stopping the navigation using the top bar.

6. A blue dotted line will show the course on the map view. The arrow on the left side will show the physical direction and distance to the destination. Tap the arrow to return to the navigation screen.

7. Tap the Stop Navigation button to stop the navigation and return to the map.
