Pairing FireMapper
InFlight uses a secure pairing system to connect to FireMapper over the local network. The
QR code displayed in InFlight contains a encrypted token that allows an individual
FireMapper instance to securely connect to InFlight. You can only be paired to one device
at a time.
Ensure both the device running FireMapper and the device running InFlight are
connected to the same local Wi-Fi connection. Both devices can either be on the
same Wi-Fi router, or the FireMapper device can be running a mobile hotspot for the other.
Start the InFlight application. If not already paired, the pairing screen will
be displayed by default. If already paired, you will need unpair it first.
The pairing screen is the first screen displayed on your SmartController.
A connection must first be established between FireMapper on your device and InFlight before information can be sent from the
drone to your map. If you are not currently paired, the screen will display a QR code. Once paired, the Home Screen
will be displayed.
Follow these steps to pair:
Both the device and the SmartController must first be connected to the same network (eg. same hotspot, wifi modem or Starlink router).
The InFlight pairing screen will initially display a QR code.
On the Android device, log into FireMapper and then scan the above QR code.
On the Android device, open a shared map.
The InFlight pairing screen will now show the connection information including the connected map.
